Luckily I get paid this Wednesday, so shopping this year won't be as tough as in years past when it fell in between pays. That said, I probably still won't pick anything up from Rockler. Other things on the plate and all.

last year at the local Rockler they had people waiting outside for 2-3 hours before they opened and the best deals were gone in 3min.
The VS grinder got my attention. I need one. They are also selling a couple of pen kits (24k) cheap well for them.

Matt,
If they will give you the sale price early, then go get the Delta grinder.
I have the Woodcraft slow speed, and just found out last month that the clubs is a Delta two speed. I never took the travel cover off the grinder until last month. Tried it, and like it much better.

Just my .02

Anyone have any input on the jet dc? Would it work well for single use? Either on the lathe, TS or BS?

If so 100 bucks isnt a bad deal for it then, I never use all three at once, so was thinking if it would work well for a single tool, could go grab it friday morning..

I'd think it would be fine, but you'd need to upgrade the bag. 30 microns is huge for wood dust. You want 1 or even .5 micron if you can find them.

ya, didnt see that before, I think I will wait untill I can power the 2hp ones from HF.. Stick with a shop vac for now..

On the Jet DC 500, I have one for my turning room . It's hooked up to my Jet mini lathe hood, a drill press, and I also use the Rockler expanding hose and accessories with it for cleaning up the floor. It works okay for the dust and smaller chips those produce, but not quite strong enough for the heavier stuff.
I actually have the unit in a closet with filtered venting and ran hose to the turning room, so the 30micron bags are sufficient. If I kept the DC in the same room as me and my tools, I'd prefer better bags.
Not bad for the price, IMO. I bought it new for $100 from Amazon or ToolKing, can't remember for sure...

Woodcraft has all Jet equipment (and some others) on sale on black Friday at 15% off........
