Im thinking that might not work out so well...I dont know if there will be enough heat transfer to be of any use since there is no liquid.

Wife would kill me if I did that to our roaster. A $20 toaster oven is cheaper and fits my small garage better anyway.

I have not done any post curing of my PR blanks, Should I be????

Lin.

Only if you "need" to. If your PR is hardening fine on it's own and you're happy with the results, stick to what you are doing. heating them afterwards just helps get rid of the tackiness or hardens any uncured part. Or if it's cold where you are curing, they may take forever to harden, so heat will just speed up the process. Putting it out in the sun will help as well...

Only the larger toaster ovens even come close to holding a bunch of the 1.5 diameter blanks. The smaller ones are fine for the pen blanks and bottle stoppers but are lacking in room for blanks that are 6" long. A large roaster oven is cheaper and with the open top easy to load and remove.

I do 6" blanks all the time. And I could go 4" thick if I wanted to. I wonder if we're talking about the same thing?

This is the one I have: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11317145

How many 1.5" diameter 6" long blanks can you put in that one? The roaster oven I have can easily hold a dozen and have room left over and the cost at the garage sale was $5. I also plan on 12" long blanks for the new size molds I am getting ready to make.

My toaster oven is HUGE and only cost me $2.95 at Goodwill! It is 12 1/2" long and 8" high inside. It is big, old, and ugly but the price was right and it works great!
