OK, I know that there are more than one here that deal with rings, right?? I have a question so I don't get taken for a ride.

I need to have my wedding bend enlarged, this Friday will be our 16th anniversity so this old ring has been kicking around on my finger since I was 18. :D Yes, we are high school sweethearts and still very much in love.

However, things change... well, get bigger maybe? So now my ring has gotten to the point that I can't quite keep it on as I have been getting a bit of numbness. So with some soap and a lot of discomfort, I managed to get it off my hand. This has not been done since the mid 90's when I bashed it up badly in an accident with a fire truck.

Back to point, what is involved in getting it resized? It's now just a plain 14kt gold band with the beading long ago worn away. What would I expect to pay to have this done? I am guessing that it would just be once size up, but I have no clue with this.

Now that I have it off, do ya'all think I should of done this a while ago?? :D

when I had to have my wedding ring resized I went to a good jeweler to do the work, It went from a size 11 to a size 15. I was told to not bring back the ring if it ever needed to go to a larger size. there are many days now that I cannot wear my ring as it seems to have days of shrinking, yeah right,Red

I paid about 20 bucks to have mine resized, but I was going smaller. I don't wear a ring and haven't for oh... almost 16 years now. I use to do service repair for coca-cola and electricity and gold did not mix well.

Depends upon the thickness of the metal in how much it can be enlarged. But if you're talking one size (seeing the mark on your finger I'd guess a couple sizes) they should be able to accomplish it easily. Another option if it's not a good candidate for resizing, is to have it cut and extra metal added between the cuts. Find a GOOD jeweler, they'll get you set up either way.

IIRC, I paid about $40 to have mine made larger, about 2 years a go. Worth doing, now I can take it off when I go to the lathe and not risk tearing my finger off!.

Easily done. I have a ring stretcher. Just send it to me. It would be best to get sized at a jeweler with metal sizing rings to know what your true size is though. It looks like at least a size from here.

Really?? That would be awesome! I would much rather have it streched than cut and patched because I am a bit nervous that it would fail. I will see if I can figure out what is correct size and get back to you.

And really, thank you again!
