Truitt,

I have a Rigid planer and love it. Blades easy to change and it just keeps going and going. Have used it on everything from pine to some real hard hickory.

+1 on love mine.
I don't use it too much but it has always worked real well.
Curly/figured hard maple most of my projects. Light pass needed at the end due to the figure but that would be expected.

I really like mine also... had it for about 3yrs now? Its the three blade version, not the older two blade vareity. You might want to make sure your local HD carries the replacement blades... if not, you will need to order them online (and pay shipping) or have to deal with the contractor desk folks to special order them for you.

I had mine for a long time...Just replaced it with a powermatic 15 inch 3 horse planer...It just wasnt big enough for what I do now...It was great...EASY BLADE CHANGES...I found personally that all the BORG's that I went to had them.

You cant go wrong...Just make sure that you use a good strong dust collector...I recommend...you ready...A ridgid shop vac also from the BORG...I bought a few of them after Thanksgiving and it works great to get the chunks...if you have questions, feel free to PM me and I give you any more info you need.
