I've been experimenting with pr ribbons in my resin casts. I use resin purchased from Douglas and Sturgess casting supplies. I place the ribbons in the mold and pour around them making sure to fill in all of the voids. My problem arises when I try to turn the blanks. The second color or pour seems to break free of the ribbon as if it never really bonded to it. Is the some preparation needed for the ribbons and other color to bond? I tried following the instructions I found in the library here but I didn't see any special prep before the pour.

Thanks,

Ken

I had that problem with some of my first ribbons. I found going very slow with a carbide worked best. I do not use a pressure pot for my ribbons.

I did find using my carbide tool and taking very small bites seemed to solve the problem. Sometimes patience isn't my strongest point.

Thanks for the help.
