As you all know that the state of California has many brush fires burning and the air in most of the state is unhealthy to say the least.
as A result, the sunrise and sunsets have been stunning!
here is tonights sunset.

I'm assuming you and your family are safe from the fires... if I remember my geography, you're down in the Bay Area and a way from most of the firs... I was concerned a while back that my daughter in Aptos might be a little close... seems like there was on up along Skyline in the mountains along the coast (I have to confess I've forgotten the names of the mountains... used to run Skyline all the time in my corvette... nice crooked road, lots of turns and hills so was fun to drive in a sports car.) The back country roads here in Tennessee give me all the curves and hills I want now.
 
Even in San Francisco with the ocean breeze the air is horrible. It is impossible to see across town from any of the hills, which is very unusual. I just returned from the Central Valley and the air there is thick and difficult for breathing if you have an respiratory problems. It also made the temperature very high. On Tuesday and Wednesday of last week it hit 111 and 114. I was able to pick up some orange wood from an orchard that had been bulldozed. Will be glad when the air clears.
 
Yes, I live in SE Washington and we got a taste of it yesterday. In the afternoon part of the sky looked like that and I believe it was from the Calif. fires. One nice thing, cooled it down about 10 degrees for a while.
