My little oil bath vacuum pump failed while stabilizing pen blanks, so I pulled it apart to see why and ended up repairing it. Anyone interested, I recorded putting it back together and go over how these work.

Great video. I need to pull apart my Harbor Freight pump that I'm experiencing a lot of oil blow by so this helps a lot with what to expect for disassembly and reassembly.

Thanks for making this video and sharing it.

The bit where you spin the rotor with the vanes in place is a great demonstration of how a single-stage vacuum pump works - as well as being a very useful reference if I ever have to take mine apart to de-sludge it.

Hope it helps you and others. I knew how similar pumps worked but this was my first time pulling one apart.
