Removing Wax

I have some burl caps that I want to cast, but they are covered in wax. How do I get that stuff off?

Boil it off in an old pot, with water.Skim as it surfaces when the wax melts.

Yep, and mine too...!

There are certainly other ways but, they can become a lot more expensive and not as effective. The secret with the boiling water is to keep the wood bellow the water level at all times, and scoping that melted wax as it melts. If there is any wax still left if the water surface when you remove the wood, it will stick back to the wood so, you leave it there until is no more wax coming to the surface...!
