One of the most difficult steps of this type of casting is to have the ability on envisage how the characteristics and features of the wood piece should be cut/positioned in the mold, for the best results possible, and you my friend, have that ability, good for you and congrats...!

The resin mixes are or can be also, a very personal touch "thing", effects and results will depend solely on it, unless is a "mistake" that worked good. You have certainly an interesting mix in this piece, just shame that you can't void wasting all that resin that is removed from the inside, as "double/sleeved" casting wouldn't be possible for these type of forms however, the final result is worth while, as far as I'm concerned, well done, mate...!

Keep up the good work, and continue having some fun creating your own castings...!

Cheers
George

HF always makes me go....AHHHHH! But this one is really WOW!

Interesting resin mixture, and the burl is very unique.

What size is the entry hole? And how thick are the walls?
