Some might remember a short time ago when Brian (USAFVET98) posted that he needed a vise. Being that I had a "spare" an offer was made to send him a vise and in return he would make a pen for me.

Well..... My treasure arrived today and I must say that I got the better of the deal, please see for yourself.

Thank you Brian, It will sit alongside all of my other treasured pens.

For the membership,

I've learned so much from this group that I try to give back wherever I can. My hopes is that we can create a kind of giving network whereas you might pass along an item that you no longer use to another member who is in need. In return you might just receive a treasure and spark another member to pass along something that they are not using. So far I have passed along 4 items to other members and have twice been rewarded with a very special treasure. I hope that other members will give it a try and be rewarded like I have.

I agree with the community of giving and exchanging items that are no longer needed or that one might have extras. I personally think that we have become such a throw away culture that it is obscene. I also think that we could repair more things rather then throwing them away. I repair all kinds of items from latte machines, hair dryers to tools, cars, etc. I would be happy to exchange items also.

Very nice Scott! I love the generosity and family spirit we have here at IAP. It feels good to help others or fill a void.

I truly believe this Cindy!!!!

We live by the Mexican border of Ca. about 50 miles from the Az. state line. We go to swapmeets in the winter in a town called Calexico which is adjoined by Mexicali, B.C. We jokingly say this is where America's junk pile is, but man, you can find some good stuff. Some of it has been discarded because the owners got something better, there's really nothing wrong with it and you can pick things up for a $1 or more. If you are the least bit handy or crafty, you can get other things that most people think are broken. You ladies out there will appreciate this, I bought a stroller - car seat - carrier combo that didn't even look used for my daughter's up coming baby, paid $15. The washing machine and some pine sol made it look brand new. If she gets one at her baby shower, I will use this one. It amazes me every time we go the things a person can throw out or find.
