Was working on a kitless pen for a friend and screwed up the internal threads where the nib screws in.:frown: This is just a homebrew PR casting, so nothing really fancy.

Can I just refill the main barrel and re-drill/thread it or would I need to re-cast the whole thing and start over?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanx

Drill out the threads and turn down a matching piece of material. Epoxy it in the hole, re-drill and thread.

That's about what I've ended up doing. I did refill the hole with PR and then redrilled. As I was tapping it for the nib, a small piece broke off the threads. Gluing it back didn't work.:frown:

So I tried what you just suggested. All was well until it slipped out of my hand and broke on the floor.

Tried it again. Apparently didn't get the tenon turned down QUITE enough. While tinkering with that, I managed to destroy the nib.

You can see what I'm doing now. Better to play here for a while before I end up burning down the house. And it's not even Monday!
