I'd like to start casting for the first time, but I was wondering if I can get some advice. My main concern is, what is the best way to glue something to the tube before I cast it? I've come up with a couple ideas I'd like to try, but I don't want to waste the PR by not knowing enough. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

First off, what are you trying to glue to the tube? Several of us have done label casting using sticky labels.
Give us some idea of what you want to glue to the tubes and we can give you some advise.

I was actually thinking of gluing a layer of glitter on the tube if it's possible. Something girlie for a niece.

My first thought would have to be CA. Med or thick. It dries completely and doesn't seem to have any affect on PR. And on the same token, PR doesn't seem to affect CA. With a fairly dry environment, you should have a pretty good open time too. I would think several minutes if not more. I've had thick CA take overnight to cure.

Something else you may want to consider is painting the tube first. It will help if there are spots that don't get completely covered with glitter.

If you were thinking of casting mayby 3 pens you could always mix 1/2 ounce of PR- 5drops of MEKP let it set a spell, but don't leave it alone, keep checking it. Scuff your brass, and wipe it down with DNA (denatured Alcohol). if your PR is starting to get cream thick start adding your glitter. Add enough that when you take your stir stick out of the PR you only see glitter, and it is starting to get to a honey stage start coating your brass, and rolling your brass on what-ever you have it suspended on.

after the core is set re-cast in clear or some transparant color.

I have done glitter into the resin. But I have CAed beads and rhinestones to the tube then cast it. The beads worked out good but the rhinestones melted. If you only want the glitter on the tube, I would pain the tube, cover it in a thin coat of CA then quickly roll in glitter.
