I've been off the forum for a few days, frustrated and cursing the computer..:( I had a problem with my Norton and had to un-install and re-install... now I have trouble getting into the forum..[V][V][xx(] I'm pretty sure it some setting on Norton since I disabled it tonight and voila.. I'm in again.:):)

Any suggestions besides scrapping the security?

I have Norton 360 and had the same problems with this site and others. I called Tech Support and they talked me through the program and made some changes and NO further problems. If you have not tried them you might want to try them. Good luck Chuck.

Are you running just Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security? If it's Norton IS, then check to see if you have it set for auto creating rules for access. If not you will have to manually create it. The firewall part of Norton would be blocking it.

Had so much trouble with Norton, I dumped it and now use Kaspersky Anti-Virus (6.0.1.411) and have had no problems since.

I finally gave up on Norton over a year ago and got AVG. Norton and MacAfee both have way too much system overhead for me.

I dumped Nortons also, due to bogging my computer and poor customer service (outsourced to India where everyones name is 'John' or 'Mary') I use AVG and haven't had anymore problems.

Norton and McAfee got too interested in being all things to all people. I prefer dedicated products so I use AVG for antivirus, Windows Defender for adware/spyware and the Windows firewall.

Wow, didn't realize so many people dislike Norton... I've heard that it tends to take over your computer, but needed something as a protection.. haven't tried AVG or Zone Alarm.. think I'll look into them. I have about 6 months to run on my current Norton subscription, but if the others are better, may just blow that off... I had no problems before I reloaded, but it's getting to be a real PIA now.

Thanks for all the replies and help.
