Pulsar Cocobolo

This is a Woodcraft Pulsar pen, in chrome, and is my first. The cocobolo is some of the most colorful I've turned. It doesn't show up well in the photos, but there's even purple in it. I used to be allergic to cocobolo, but fortunately I outgrew it. The finish is Pens Plus.

The kit is very unusual in that none of the parts are pressed. To assemble it, you put the clip/twist assembly through the pen body, and screw on the tip.

Another unusual thing I found is that even thought it takes a 25/64" drill bit, the 25/64" pilot for the Ultra-Shear trimmer was about a thousandth too big. It started drilling out the tube. But since nothing is pressed into it, it didn't cause any problems. I dug out my old PSI trimmer set, and one of the pilots fit fine, even though the cutter is very dull.
