Has anyone else noticed that PSI seems to be discontinuing a lot of their rollerball versions of themed pens? (for example: dragon, skull, and music pens.) I know there was a fly fishing rollerball because I just sold one of them, but don't see them on the site now. It looks like they might be doing the same to the faith, hope, love pen. If you like those, get them while you can. As much as I prefer to make standard rollerball pens, the themed ones do sell fairly well, especially during gift season, which is coming up very quickly.

Noticed the same - add in the Southwest, Victorian, and a few others as well.
I'd hazard a guess that these theme kits /in general/ didn't overall move as well as the others and someone made the decision to improve their turnover ratio.

Woodturningz has some nice kits, but they seem a little overdone IMO.
I just looked at woodpenpro and they don't have as many RBs as I remember, either.
Interesting. I wonder if there will be any new ones coming along?

I've always thought they overdid it with all the themed pens. It doesn't surprise me to see them thinning out their offerings a bit.

The more specialized/niche they go, the smaller their percentage of sales. They hit a home run with the bolt action kits, but then applied that same or similar mechanism to a number of other kits. I imagine some of those will go away, also.

Can't say as I'm a fan of the Woodturningz kits, unfortunately. I've had a couple of them break on me at the clip wire.

I've never been a big fan of themed pens there's always details I want to change or end up having to kit bash them to get the look I want. The pocket clips are always atrocious IMO - I'm just a fan of plain clips.

I do wonder how well these types of pens sell though, I've seen folks mention they sell well but I haven't tried to sell any of them because I feel they are gaudy, but if people really buy them maybe it's worth looking into more LOL!

I thought most of the clips on the PSI kits were pretty decent. The fleur-de-lis and fishing rod are good examples. The rollerball versions were less top-heavy than the twist versions without the cap posted.

I do agree with not liking the themed ones as well as the simpler ones, but I do like having a few other options for buyers.

As a s.w.a.g. I would guess that half my themed pens tend to be bought by people looking for gifts for others.
