I just got a PSI 10% off coupon on purchases over $60 via email. Do you think this will be their best offer of the holiday season? I'm thinking to get a Barracuda 2 but want to get the best deal I can.

I was also thinking to get the extra flat jaws. Should I get the 5" or 8" for my Jet 1014? I was thinking the 8". I've never used them but figured big can hold small but small can't hold big.

What do you think?

I get their emails once in awhile. I have not purchased from them in a couple of years, maybe why I have not received the coupon offer. That 10% helps a little anyway. I have never seen any of their coupons go over 10% but I have been wrong before.
 
Check Amazon.com before you order.....their price varies. EG, today its $168 and change, as opposed to $179.95 from PSI. I realize that's not 10%, BUT you also get free shipping......and that's a big savings...definitely makes your total savings more than 10%. And, as I said, if you watch their prices, they frequently vary in price. Never been able to see any pattern, just sometimes "just because its Thursday", I think!!!!

From past experience with Amazon it seems that the more you look a an item without buying it the price incentives get better . I bought my BC2 from them , I had been looking at them for over a month (drooling is more like it) and the price kept getting better , it started at $159 w/free shipping after about 2 weeks the price went down $10 . I kept looking (drooling) and the next week it was back up to $159 so I kept watching and then one day the price dropped to $139 , I bought it that night . I think they track what you look at and adjust the price to get you to buy .
Keep watching it for a while and see if they are still doing it . I was checking it out almost nightly .
 
Check out the 30% discount through live.com to Ebay, maybe there are some woodworking tools that can have the discount applied to them. My neighbor bought a new computer today and saved the 30% on the purchase price. Just thought that it might be worth checking out.

I can't comment on the pricing, I already have my BC2 and the Flat jaws... I opted for the 8" also.. it works on the 1014 equally as well as it does on my 1442. You may not be able to open the jaws fully on the 1014, don't know if I've tried yet or not since I do most of my bowls on the 1442 and I already had the 1442 when I bought the flat jaws. I have two of the chucks so I can keep one set up with the flat jaws most of the time.
