Ran to the grocery store this morning... Got back to find out my box from exotics was marked "delivery confirmation" and paperwork said I could pick it up tuesday.....

So.... Found the mailman in the neighborhood.. who was nice enough to call his partner in another truck. And she told me where she was :)

Needless to say, I have my box... So no matter what the USPS may do wrong at a 'large scale'... We still have some great people that work there!

it's nice when you have good people around! my mailperson will get out of her truck only to put a notice in the mailbox that says "trash cans are in the way, mail cannot be delivered"....yeah, really.

My neighbor parks his car in the street, sometime too close to my mailbox and I get a note about my mail being undeliverable. Wow, they can deal with all sorts of weather, but thay can't pull up to the mailbox and them put the car in reverse.

Lol my mail person won't even do that. If the trash person leaves the can in the way they just pass on by.

The woman that works at my local PO tells everyone she can about the pens I make. She had me make her daughter one for her birthday this past June. Heck, I went into a new bakery that just opened and they already knew me as the pen guy because of her. Had me come back and show some pens for some Christmas orders. Since I'm always in there sending off blanks she sees alot of my most recent work. I'm in the process of making her a stamp pen as a sign of my appreciation. Haven't had a damaged package so far!

Yep there are a lot of people that complain about the usps, but they never cease to amaze me how fast some of you guys get your parcels. In Canada its at least 8 days coast to coast. But then that is by dog sled. Lol

You guys all need a country mail person... my mail lady will stop and back up into my driveway, usually spin in the gravel and dig holes in the driveway, sometimes honk her horn for me to come out.. especially if I'm still sitting at the breakfast table, if not she'll get out, leave the package on the front porch, pet the dog and talk to her for a few minutes then head on... 'course, she'll also leave the letters and flyers in the mailbox at the foot of the driveway.

Mines a country route as well. I'm normally upstairs when she comes and she honks for me. We have an understanding if no one is home, she'll leave any packages in the truck that's home. Only on confirmed delivery do I miss a package. My only complaint is she'd be faster if she got off the phone.

8 days coast to coast? I've had packages sit in Thunder Bay for a week, and then I'll get them a month later! :)

Well I was being conservative, but really have you seen how fast some of our Yankee friends get there parcels. But then I was bragging how good our dog sled teams are.

Lin.

I feel bad for you guys in Canada. I sent a package up there and then a few days later sent a package to England. The guy in England got his package 5 days before the guy in Canada did!

I asked for patience - Canada post gives me plenty of opportunities to practice! :)

It always makes me smile when I see posts to the effect of "Stupid vendor - I ordered this a week ago - where is it??"...

I always wait a month before getting worried! :)

USPS

Well our mailbox is in a mail center kiosk. But, my regular mail person picks up my packages at the front door - free and even though she does not have to, she delivers my mail. If I need boxes I just leave her a note and she'll drop them off next day. If I happen to be sitting outside she always takes a couple of minutes to pass the time of day and pet the dog (who loves her and is always happy to see her). I told her one day that if I was 30 years younger I'd put the make on her and she was kind enough to smile and say "If you were 30 years younger I'd be too old for you."

And, for all the horror stories, in over three years, the only packages I have had lost were international. I've only had two or three damaged and only one where everything had to be replaced. I've had three or four that took a long time for delivery but half of them were to Canada

I ship everything with delivery confirmation signature not required...it's free for on-line postage buyers.

I have one Canadian Customer who has a US PO mailbox that he has me ship to. It is much faster than having them shipped to his home (and cheaper)
