Protura Burl

This is a Protura twist pen in chrome from PSI. It's a new kit and is my first. The wood is locust tree burl. The finish is Pens Plus. I like the design of the pen.

The blank had a couple of cracks in it, so I put thin CA on it.

The crack repair looks great and adds character.

Grew up with locust trees all over our acreage as a kid but never knew they had burls.

Yes, I like how the cracks are black. I've turned other pens from the same burl that also had cracks. I used CA on a couple of them. The burl is from a friend of mine, she got it from her parents-in-law. She said she has another one for me.

Nicely done, the dark areas add contrast and interest.
