Problem with Vertex click pen

I made two PSI Vertex click pens Sunday. One works and one doesn't. The refill doesn't stay extended. Any ideas?

Jim; I don't know. My suggestions; It is likely the transmission mechanism itself.
Disassemble the pen; apply denatured alcohol to the transmission.
Other suggestions;
Switch the ink fill from one to the other.
Check the spring. Some springs only work one way.

I've emailed Rockler and PSI, I'll see what they have to say. I've tried three different refills, including a Schmidt Easy Flow. I've flipped the spring around. I don't know how to disassemble it without ruining the mechanism. It has a plastic piece on the bottom.

PSI should be able to replace the mechanism as it appears it is faulty. one thing: In my experience it is ALWAYS best to call them.

Actually, I did get an email back from PSI today. They're sending me a new click mechanism. Still haven't heard back from Rockler.
