The pressure pot is on sale at HF, so is the vacuum pump. One question I have is, what pressure does the vacuum pump require? I have a PC pankake compressor that can output 3.5 CFM@ 40 PSI, but I don't know what pressure it could support 4.2 CFM...

Travis, thats a question I would have to research. I have my compressor set at about 120 pounds before it cuts out. When I pull a vacuum, in order to get 27.5 inches, my compressor actually runs down to were it cycles. It runs at full volume for about 45 seconds to 1 minute to pull that vacuum. And 27.5 is the best I have been able to get. Of course, I've been told thats pretty good and more than sufficient to de-gas resin. Thats why I haven't pursued it any further.
Maybe someone else will have some more insight into using a smaller unit to attempt to pull a vacuum. Good luck.

Fred, It's in the front.[}:)][}:)][:D][:D] Sorry Fred, couldn't resist.
