So I was casting yesterday at about 60PSI and my Pots Gasket pushed out and the air escaped. I released the rest of the Air and pused the gasket back down and pressured it back up. It held for about an hour then I heard it release the air again. I opened the pot up and looked at the Gasket and it is in goot shape but there is a Glue or something behind it I guess to hold it in place. The glue is soft and the gasket is easlily pulled away from it and I am thinking it is going out almost acting like a lubricant so the Gasket slides out of place under pressure. Is there a replacement for this glue that I can clean off the old and add new?

This is an old Pot I got off Ebay. It is very heavy and in great shape. I dont thin the pot is the issue but the gasket or the glue holding it in place.

I read that using a bicycle innertube sliced open and cut to fit over the edge of your pot works as a second gasket to reinforce the original.

We did use this idea on our dust collector and it works great!

You could try the giue they use to put the rubber door seals and stuff in cars with. Its made by 3M and can be got at almost any auto parts stores.I used it to glue my bandsaw tires on with and they are holding just fine.

You can get a gasket adhesive at any auto parts store. Make sure you clean the gasket and the surface you are putting it on with a solvent let dry. follow the directions and reapply the gasket.
Most of the solvents, and adhesives smell nasty. Well ventilated and gloves are a must!

I always have used Gorillia snot or formally known as 3m weather strip adhesive. Youll know why it is called what it is. Great stuff holds good. Available at most if not all parts houses.
