I've just got my HF pressure pot set up and I'd like to try to do some casting. The one blank that I'd like to try to cast is one using coffee beans. Can I do this with a pressure pot, or do these type of casting require to use of vaccum instead.

Thanks in advance

Bill

The only reason I use vacuum is if I have trouble getting my Mica to disolve and I have to get aggressive w/ my stirring, then I will place the cup in my vacuum chamber before adding the Catalyst and suck the air out. You have to be careful as the PR will double in size. Once you cast you dont want to place under vacuum for this reason. All of th air in the beans will come pouring out and the PR will overflow your mold. So Vaccum prior to Catylsy and Pressure in the mold. Good luck.
