For all you Forum junkies that will go through 24 hour withdrawls this weekend. Post humerous kind thoughts that might go through your mind during the down time. Get them out of your system now.

For me it will be.

Since I read Jeff's post I have been wondering all day long just how I am going to get through the day and night.

I guess I will end up in front of the TV sulking most of the day until I get to hungry to ignore the growls coming from my stomach. Then I will eat and go to sleep until Sunday or there abouts. Of course I will get up every few minutes and rush to the PC and check to see if Jeff is finished and we are all back together again.

Beer might be in the playbook somewhere along the way ... and some chocolate bars ... maybe some popcorn ... maybe some fudge ripple ice cream ... no girl friend any more - she moved - so that is out of the question ...

I'll come up with something though. I already feel down a bit! :(

I'll be at work all day Saturday and I guess I'll just have to watch my control board. I think Jeff did this to me on purpose. He did, I know, I don't care if he say he didn't. I need my stress ball already. [:p]

Hey, I've suggested to Jeff that he provide a live video feed of him at the keyboard. :D

Odd, I never thought my keyboard would fit where he proposed I relocate it[:0][:0]

Wow, I would've thought that most of you guys would spend time in front of the lathe actually making pens!!
Why don't we have a "Downtime Pen" theme? everyone has the amount of time the forum is down to make a pen and then post it on the new forum.
I'm going to do that.

PS is it ready yet?

When I heard about this, the first time, I had NO IDEA what I could do to pass the time for a WHOLE Saturday.

Well, when Jeff listed his phone number, I realized

THERE'S THE ANSWER:

I can call Jeff every 15 minutes or so and see HOW HE'S DOING!!!

I'm SURE he will be grateful for someone to talk with!!

And I can hear Ed now.

Yeah well MR. Smart a$$ thats easy for you to say, you have the use of two hands, I'll wind up the victim of senior abuse and forced to watch all 347 episodes of Sponge Bob Square Pants.
I suppose I could render my self unconscious, but I would run out of pain meds, and I'd rather not drink any alcohol while I'm taking them. Or the ultimate humiliation, actually do some cad work for pen parts, but that would be kind of dumb, I could actually come up with a saleable product, I don't really need the money, heck theres 3 or 4 liquor stores around that haven't been robbed yet. :D
Jeff please make it painless:):)

As many times as some people post, they must have 1 hand on the keyboard and 1 on the lathe. Wow! Since the forum will be down for a while, Imagine what you could turn with 2 hands.:D:D

I think I will chug some NyQuil and get unconscious for a day. Hopefully, when I wake up, all will be as it should be... ;)

My Gripe

Jeff, if you would have made the changes last Friday, it would have been over by now!
What where you thinking!

Seriously, Good luck on the move.

LOML says she can already anticipate the withdrawl symptoms, and has given me a choice. She makes an appointment with a Dr., the kind that has the white coats for you to wear with the long wrap-a-round sleeves for me. OR her seconbd choice is a large cast iron frying pan being introduced suddenly to my cranium. I told her it may take both! :D

I can't believe those of you who want to go "make a pen" during the down time! You must still be under-age.

Half the fun and joy of being a "grumpy, crotchety old man" is expressing your artistic griping license! :D :D :D

Probably be more effective to set up a phone-gang and have everyone call every five minutes to offer words of encouragement and check on how he's progressing.
