I have followed a lot of thread here about our self and/or loved ones who have been injured or sick. So I wanted to post this message. My father Lee Trumbo (sawdustmaker on this forum) today was out in his garage this morning in Abilene Texas getting ready to turn a pen. He fell and broke his hip and will be in surgery sometime tonight or in the morning. It will be a long time before he will be able to get back out and do his scroll sawing or to turn a pen. He has never posted a message here but he does read the forms regularly. If you would like to send him a PM I will make sure he gets logged on when his gets better to read them.

Thanks
James W. Trumbo

Prayers already sent. It may take some patience but they're doing amazing things with hips these days.

All my best,

Im 52 and had a total hip replacement and glad I did, they indeed do awesome stuff with hips!!! I wasnt down very long and was walking same day with a walker!! Tell him to hang tough it will come albiet slow and he is in our prayers for a speedy recovery.

As a medic I have seen this far too many times. He will be up and about in no time. Dr's recommend that you get up and move around as it helps with recovery. The longer you sit around on it the longer the healing process takes. So good luck go him and he will be turning In no time.

James, my prayers to you and your family. Hoping Lee's surgery goes as quick and painless as possible and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I wish him a quick recovery and hope everything goes well with his surgery. Never doubt the power of prayer.

UPDATE: On Sawdustmaker

On Wednesday night Dad had surgery to put a screw in his hip. The surgery went without a hitch. By Thursday afternoon the nurses had him up twice. Thanks for the comments and prayers on his behalf.

James
