PPF (paint protection film). Has anyone done this? A Waste or Worth? Not for my cars..asking for someone. Thanks.

I had the ceramic coating applied by the dealer when we go our 2021 Tahoe and it still looks new.
I was really leery but I'm sold on it now.

I had my 2017 Impala front end wrapped when it was new. Front bumper, hood, quarter panels, A-pillar and front of the roof. I was a big car nut up to that point. Got burned out from all the troubles I had with a 2006 Pontiac. Anyhow, lets just say this car does not get washed as much. Also, when it was 3 years old, I stopped commuting which was brutal on the car.
Last year i started to notice condition issues. The edges of the wrap were getting dirt under them, so they became noticeable. Then on the hood I started to see some grey spots, which I might not have been able to see if the car was not white. I decided since the wrap was 7 years old, and I am no longer commuting, I would remove the wrap. Wow, it was a bitch even with a steamer. 2 person job.
I would highly recommend getting a vinyl wrap if you want to protect your paint. I have not yet pulled the wrap from the front bumper, and when I do, I will get it done again. At this point I dont think the hood or quarter panels need it.

I have a ceramic coat and then PPF on high exposure parts of my car. I even apply ceramic coat to the PPF. ceramic coating does not perform lilke PPF. I had it professionally installed. The ceramic coat I do once a year. It works great and takes me minutes to do a sedan (including clay bar) My car is garage kept at night. My ppf has been on for 3+ years. It is still fine. It cost me a few hundred dollars. I use the ceramic coat protect as my last step before selling a pen. It only takes a drop.
