powdered paint

Someone mentioned a while back on the forum that they had gotten some powdered paint for free and were asking about casting with it. It doesn't seem like there were many replies back then.
Has anyone since tried using powdered paint for coloring PR and/or alumilite? It IS very cheap. I have seen some online for as cheap as $3.25 a pound. Seems like it can't be much more than a powdered pigment and should work well for coloring acrilyc...
Any experience with it?

Powdered paint will work with Alumilite(haven't tried with PR) but the end results will vary greatly depending on the type of powdered paint you choose.
