I am thinking about getting the HF powder coater here: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94244

I hate spray painting tubes and want to clear coat some casings and other things for bullet pens.

3 quick questions come to mind:

1. Is it worth it?
2. Can you list pros and cons?
3. Is it easier than spray painting the tubes?
4. Where can you purchase clear powder coating powder?

I have the HF powder coating system. It works just fine. I've had no problems with it. Easier than spray painting....NO..I don't think so. Nicer results...yes. Others may have a different opinion. HF powders are trash. I get powders from http://www.caswellplating.com but a google search will yield several options. There once were a couple of articles in the files but now I see several you-tube videos.
Do a good turn daily!

I agree with Don, I have one and it's a bit more difficult than painting tubes, but the results are better, also like Don said Caswell plating and Eastwood are good places to get powders. HF's are too coarse, a small toaster oven works great, and if you can find an extra rack for something like a toaster oven, you can make a spray rack to hold your tubes, I made one out of copper tubing hammered flat drilled some holes and soldered copper wire about 12 or 14 gauge. there is or was a great vendor on eBay that had great prices and decent material but I forgot their name sorry.
