Did these today from a 4x4x13 piece of Poplar.

Wonderful vases! Like the graceful shapes, your poplar has pretty grains and colors. Great work!

Bob I have to agree with everyone else...very nice vases!!! I've used poplar before several times and always had good results from it, other than a 'green sheen' sometimes... Like your design and I'm sure it will be a welcomed gift or handy vase for your home. I see you used 'inserts' in the vases...did you use the 'glass or plastic inserts' from Hobby Lobby or??? Again, great turnings and thanks so much for sharing! Safe turning to you always!
