Looking back and forth from pics 1 & 2 of the design, shape difference within little rotation of the pen is pretty cool . I have no ideal how its done but i like !

Very cool. Just curious how long that took?

Hi Jason, well... that's complicated.

I started to draft the diagrams last fall. After I got better with just squares and triangles, I really wanted to try a different combination.

I had to shelf this in Jan/Feb as life got busy. When I finally got back to figuring out the multi-angles segment, it went smoother.

Ball-Park Estimate:

30 minutes to cut the basic pieces before any sanding (extras also).
60 minutes to sand the triangles and polygons.
30 minutes for the glue-up, done in stages. Wait overnight.
30 minutes to sand the "sandwich" to have correct alignment, cut it into the slices, and prep for assembly.
15 min to get the 4-corner pieces, or to cut the slots for the 3-sided design (assuming "Frankie" was ready).
15 min for the blank assembly. Wait overnight.
30 minutes to rough turn to fit into a collet, drill the tube hole and epoxy in the tube with equal spacing for the veneers/end caps. Wait overnight.
30 minutes to construct the layered veneers and prepare the end caps. Wait overnight.
30 minutes for final turning, sanding and applying Glu Boost.

Design, several months of head-scratching.
Actual pen, about 4 1/2 hrs, spread over 4-5 days.

I think that is fabulous, Mark !! . Nice going and well done !!

Keep scratchin' that ol' noggin !!!
