O.K. been away from turning for quite some time. Started making pens again and have some plywood blanks from the original Dr. Who Tardis. Like an idiot I threw one on the lathe and split the plywood apart at the seams. What do you all recommend to make the plywood more solid instead of glued layers. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome back, Karl.

Perhaps you can post a photo of what you're talking about? That would probably increase the odds of getting useful advice.

You could try stabilizing the plywood with cactus juice, or you could try simple stabilization with Thin CA, Drench the ply layers with CA, let it dry and the plywood will be more stable.

Have a blank from thin plywood segments glued together. Need to drill and see what happens. Marine plywood is fully wood and has no voids in the layers.

There must have been an explosion in season one of Dr Who! put it in a frame next to a screen capture!
A guy in Europe who used to make pens has all kinds of novelty wood. He no longer makes pens so is selling his stock. These blanks were from the original tartis that Peter Cushing used in Dr. Who and the daleks, back in like 1969. It was rebuilt for a special and he got some of the wood.
