Greetings
Here is a plunge filler with the cap, section, and body finial dressed in McKenzie Diamond Cast Nebula and the body in Bear Tooth Woods Cherry Ice. The reservoir will hold quite a bit of ink, IIRC about 2 ml. When I started making this filling system I turned tiny parts to capture the moving seal on the end of the rod. I followed a patent from the 1890's. To make it a little easier handling small parts I changed to 2mm nuts and they work just as well. It's a challenge to get the body size right and to get everything sealed. There is an o-ring at the section and a flat rubber washer and felt packing on the finial end, All threads have a coat of silicone grease.
Some dimensions
Nib: Schmidt #5 medium
Overall length; 5.66 in (143.7 mm)
Cap length: 2.50 in (63.5 mm)
Uncapped pen length: 4.88 in (123.8 mm)
Body dia: 0.5 in (12.6 mm)
Cap dia: 0.565 (14.35 mm)
I still have to work on my clips, I like bent wire but need to jazz it up a bit. The wire is 2mm stainless.
Thanks for lookin'.
