Thought I would try some color stabilization in the 60's era. This is not my
idea got it from brooks803 he posted a few days ago maybe a week ago. Thought I would give it a try.

First batch is cooked and I hope ready to turn. Stabilization is with CJ and alumilite colors.

2nd batch is in oven now trying a different idea. Will see how it works by the week end.

The last one is just a straight forward dyed curly maple with CJ and blue alumlite dye. The second blank is a cholla cactus in red alumilite, will have to paint tube and blank the cholla is small so it will probably be a slimline.

Happy to be an enabler

They look great! On the first batch, did you dye yellow or is that the natural wood color?

Edit: Oh yea, wanna trade a few blanks? I really like that first batch. I just pulled a bunch of blanks out of the oven this morning.

Brooks803 I did dye it yellow. Most were three color, red, blue and yellow or red green and yellow. Did some orange and blue yesterday for the Bronco fans here will see how they turn out. Complete penetration seems to be a problem using eye droppers but the patterns are so much cooler than just vac and dye. There is a little cross over and blending at the lines of color but not to bad. I have not checked these for penetration. The practice batch had about a one eighth non dyed down the center. We then put this under vac with new CJ and did it with just clear and enough color ran that everything was dyed very 60 ish in color. Yes I would love to trade some. Let me make sure the stabilization is complete and color saturation is complete. Thanks for leading the way you were my inspiration.
