I just had a problem with a Majestic Jr. My boss unscrewed the cap to open it (as instructed). Screwed it on the bottom end. Then proceeds to pull it back off. Stripped the threads completely.

Anyone that has made any of the "Jr" styles... Is there one the same size as the Majestic Jr, that uses metal threads instead of the plastic ones?

Almost makes me want to learn to build a kitless style...

Thx in advance....:):):)

Anyone confirm that the Jr Statesmen II Pen (CSUSA) has metal threads?

The picture sure looks like it, but I can't see inside..

Yes. The ones in the cap are the ones I'm trying to avoid. Do any of the Jr styles have metal threads in the cap?

Short of buying one of each to see, I thought I'd ask those that have already worked with them.

I do not believen that you can buy the inserts separately. I have had issues with my daily user, Majestic JR. because the cap can walk itself off the pen if they were not tightened fairly tight I have ink stains on more than on pair of pants now

metal on metal threads have their down-sides too.

The metal on metal wear will go through the plating on the pen in due time. So those nice platinum threads on the coupler will start looking gold as more and more brass starts showing through.

As well as the tolerance needing to be looser than is achievable with metal/plastic threads. Many people with the metal/metal have complained about the caps coming off too easily because of this.

I see. Two sides to every coin. Guess I'll pick a style and stick with it.

On a side note, PSI sent me a replacement piece. I explained what happened and she put it in the mail this morning.

I don't know if others will do that or not, but they are great people to deal with. :):)

Guess that's why my Daily driver is currently a Zen (no threads):eek:
I love that pen. I wish they could come up with a FP version.
