Got 5.85 gallons on the way for the low low cost of $660. So $112 per gallon. Much better than the $185 per gallon buying it 1.25 gal at a time.

Should be set up to cast ALL winter.

Already ordered more material for Prism FX and Opals FX. Have more ideas that I want to try but until the resin arrives, I'm stuck.

I use West Systems Epoxy 105/207. more expensive, but much more control and no odor. Longer open time, lower heat created and doesn't melt some materials.

And you use A LOT of that stuff!

Well, I used 3 gallons last year. So I figured since I'm branching out a bit more (and some of the things I want to try aren't tube-in blanks), that I best have more resin on hand.

Got enough material in last night for 45 2-tube Prism FX and Maybe 200 2-tube Opal FX. Need to order some more Sierra tubes I know, and casting tubes. Inventory this weekend and get my last orders in.

Resin should be here soon, so I should be running again by the end of the month.

The 105 came in today, the 207 is scheduled for tomorrow.

The can on the right is the empty 1 gallon can.

I like the pump on the gallon can. Did you buy that separate? I hate pouring my PR from a rectangular can.

Yes, they sell the pumps specifically geared for the West Systems. Three pumps come in a pack, 1 for the 105, one for the 207/209 hardener and one for the 206/208 hardener.

You don't need to measure, just 1 pump of 105 gets 1 pump of whichever hardener you are using.

The pump is now on the big jug with an included extended down spout and adapter to make it fit the larger opening. The 207 can will be the same.

The pumps will likely work with PR also, but you'd only need one.

Mike,

Do you use pressure with the resin? I noticed a couple air bubbles in the castings from the castaway.

I do use pressure, The blue thread blank that you got was Alumilite which I think had voids because of how fast it sets up or not enough pressure (I cast at 45psi usually). Part if the reason I put in 7 blanks (4 with some voids and three tube in that were void free).

The clear casts I only get a rare bubble with the West Systems since it allows more time for the bubbles to either float or dissolve back into the solution.

You can see the top of one of my pots behind the resin above.
