During my lunch break I ran through a nearby estate sales.
I picked up a Sheaffer White Dot Fountain Pen desk set with an alabaster or white onyx base. I will take and post some pics later when I get home this evening. Edit: Four pics of the pen. I also added two pics of the brass ink well pen rest from the same sale.
The base has a few minor chips, but no cracks. Some wet sanding might remove enough material to disguise the chipped places. (I originally picked it up for the base. If I end up throwing the pen away, I still have a nice piece of stone.)
If I can I would like to restore this pen. I don't necessarily plan on keeping it. If I sell it, I would like to be able to sell it as a fully functioning pen.
Does anyone know a source of information on how to restore these pens? A source for parts, if needed?
I have not been able to disassemble the pen to see how the ink fills. I imagine it is a pump of some type.
Thanks in advance.
