Pith on all of this tier stuff, these are supposed to be fun. It's not about how much you can spend on a kit, it's how well you do with the kit you use, and how much heart you put into it!!
I just hope it doesn't get as complicated as the rules for the cartridge/casing/ bullet/arrow contest did. That was the first contest that's been done on here I didn't get in since I've been a member of the site. so please TRY AND KEEP IT SIMPLE please,if not then pith on it!

Ron, I haven't turned a slimline in way over a year or two, mostly all I turn is Jr Gents, Statesmen and a lot of Retros, lately I've been turning some Imperials. I've never used a Slim line in a swap. I have used Elegant Beauties and some Barons, but to directly answer your question, no I wouldn't waste the wood, or my time. I did put an Emperor cap on a cartridge pen once though.

Ron, what do you suggest that I would do? Ken has sent me some beautiful blanks, i ain't gonna put it on some dumb looking kit. they are too elegant to go on cheap kits. Slimlines never impressed me, so when one gets my pen it will be the best effort I put into it not the cheapo kit.

I think every one is for PITHing. Very good.
I hope everyone has fun with the PITH - it's a fun thing, for sure!
I personally prefer the straight swap with one other member - i.e. pen for pen...but that format seems to be a thing of the past!

Dudley, please read post#5 then 8 and 9, that should give you a clearer insight of the conversation which you seem to have misconstrued JMO

Jim, I keep calling out for group hug, but Dang it it's our tradition here in USA that guys don't like to be hugged. I don't mind it as long as someone won't grab my butt. I tell you what I think I have more friends to drink beer and chew tooth pick with now than enemies to get into PITHing match contest. Look at the poll result. even though that 8 people don't want to PITH, majority still do.
