I love my pipes. The hard part has always been keeping the silly things vertical while the resin cures. The plugs I use allow them to stand straight up, but if I bump the bench... Yikes!

A couple days ago a flash of inspiration (or I just finally got a brain) hit me.

Just cheap "whitewood" from Lowes. A 1 1/4" forstner bit cut the holes. Now I can move the pipes around even while they're still wet! Awesome!

Looking down the tunnel and not seeing the light makes you wonder how many bends you have to turn through before you finally see the light.

Great idea.

Mine aint as purdy as yours but it works, 3/4 cpvc, fits in the hole so I dont need a plug. Clamp it to my scroll saw to vibrate it. But yours does look alot nicer.

I wonder if I could make something simple like that to hold 4 of the bigger pill bottles to go in my pressure pot for bottle stopper blanks? I think I may have a fostner(sp?) bit big enough for them.

There ya go. You can make the top and bottom round so they fit snugly in your PP. Add legs and stack two high?

Get a circle cutter or a hole saw. I dont think the hole for a pill bottle needs to be a real tight fit.

What do you use as a release agent in the PVC? I have yet to get a cast to come out easily!!!

Most of the time I use a dowel and tap them out after a few days. The pipe is very smooth inside so pr dosent stick too bad. I have used WD40 in the past but for the most part I dont use anything. The KEY thing is to use CPVC, not pvc. CPVC can take the heat and not deform. PVC is for cold water and wont handle the heat well.

Release agent?
Days?

In a couple hours I just flex the pipe. You can hear the PR releasing inside. Then a dowel and a mallet knocks it out.

I generally get 5-10 casts out of a piece of pipe before I have to toss it. They start to warp after a while from the curing heat.
