How do you stabilize a pine cone? I am trying to do one but need the correct process as far as getting the pine cone completely soaked into the center. Pressure? Vacuum? Tips, suggestions please.

ca glue, turn, ca glue, turn, more ca glue, turn, polish and assemble. pretty easy, not as hard as one might think.
Same here, that is exactly how I do it. glue, turn, glue, turn, glue, turn, glue, sand, glue, sand, then sand , then sand it again., Assemble.

Do I understand correctly that you do not cast the pine cone, but use ONLY CA??

CA is the method for the cones that have a large core. The big fat open ones or the tiny ones are cast in a pressure pot. Those ones will still require CA, but only as a top coat, not for spinning. Dawn sells pre-cast cones. I do not know where to get the un-cast cones with the large core, but I see them in the classifieds sometimes. Them monster cones don't grow here in Michigan.
