I tried my first mini pine cone and PR resin the other day. I am using a pressure pot as well. I used two colors of PR and have had issues with the colors merging, so based on the advice I read here and other places, I waited a couple minutes before putting the resin into the mold.

I actually put in a layer of PR and then the pine cones, and poured the PR over the top of the pine cones. It appeared that it totally encapsulated the pine cones, but when I turn into it a bit, the resin did not fully encapsulate the pine cones and I have a lot of voids around the, leaves, for lack of a better term of the pine cones.

I have tried filling with CA and it does work sort of. But I am trying to figure out how to get more saturation. Do I need to just use a single color so I can add the resin when it is completely fluid? I pressurized to 60 PSi for 2 hours, thinking that would be more than adequate.

I am also having a problem getting a smooth turning. It feels decent when I am done turning, but when I sand, the sanding does not have the same effect on the pine cones, particularly since I have now saturated them in CA and the PR. I can feel bumps where the different materials are. I have never had this issue before, and thinking it must be something I am doing
