Pine Cone Question

I think this is the right sub forum for the question, so here I go.

I got a couple of pine cones that are slightly brown and still fully closed. Is there a trick to drying them out while minimizing the opening of the pine cones? Thanks for any help.

I put mind in pvc pipe with holes in it. Then put the pipe near a box fan I keep going iin the basement. You could also wrap the cones in plastic wrap, leaving the ends open.
