I just purchased one of Ken's piano kits and have a question. I was trying to get the keys into the blank and noticed that it did not fit the way I thought it should. I have not glued it in yet, and I don't really know if it is supposed to be a tight fit or not. When the keys are seated I can see the brass tube behind the keys on the straight section and between the cut section there are gaps. Is this correct? How would I fix it? I will give Ken a call after while, but I thought someone on here might have an easy solution.

First off paint the tube black. Then file and fit. Turn the bottom first and save some sanding dust from the Blackwood. Put it in the cracks around the keys and drizzle some CA on it. Turn the top preferably with a skew because if you do alot of sanding the dark color of the Blackwood will contaminate the Holly. If you sand do it with the lathe off and be careful.
I've made 4 of these pens and this method works FOR ME.Hope this helps.
