Ack, I think I'm guilty of this.:( Sorry about that, gonna run thru my album and fix this real quick.:D Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't think it showed up.

Sometimes I put photos in my album because someone asked me to not because I posted it to make people guess what it's made from, what finish I used or how I made it. If you really want to know something about a pen you see, just PM the author!

And if you made a pen with a great blank from one of the suppliers here, credit them.
If I see a pen using a particularly beautiful casting or burl, I'd like to know where to get its like.

Actually taking the time now to put the information with your photos will save you much time in the future. You would be surprised how many people will fire a PM of to inquire about a photo becuase it shows up on the random photos on the front page.

Bob, giving info on where the blank comes from is a great idea.:)

To that I would agree! Next, people will want a parts list, tools used, a list of tool vendors, a photo of the shop it was made in accompanied by a complete set of written instructions. I don't understand this mindset at all, what’s wrong with just sharing what we do?

LOL! :D What ever happened to "A picture is worth a thousand words!"

In all honesty, you don't WANT me describing my pictures, even if they were good enough. I never have been able to do a good abridged concise brief condensed and to the point description without being wordy. But then, isn't that what preachers do! :D

I believe in a time and place for everything. In most instances just posting a photo of a pen is "hey, look what I made" just like posting a photo of the wife and kids, no further explanation is required. If there is a discussion about the pen, a few words of explanation would be appropriate but we're just talking about people uploading photos in their albums.

I see my album as a storage place for images to point others to when necessary not necessarily as a gallery.[8D]

If they don't want to type anything, so be it. Maybe they don't want to tell everyone what its made of or type how they did somthing. Quite possably their just lazy. But its really a non issue to me.

I see a lot of album photos which I'd like to feature on the front page, but which don't have descriptions. I don't have time to chase people down and beg them to add a couple words, so they never make it.

For those that do not wish to type anything in, the least they could do is remove the "Type your description here" from the photo.

Personally all the information helps me on my own photos as I have onset of the dreaded "old timers" disease![xx(]

In all honesty, it has been a while since I uploaded anything but adding a description beyond the name seems redundant to me.

I name my picts for upload anyway so that I know what they are - and 'which' pict to upload. When upload to IAP is complete, it brings the name of the photo with it. So what is the purpose of adding that again? As Yogi used to say deja vo all over again.

Yeah well it is a small thing,I agree with that. But sometimes I would like to know what I am looking at besides the obvious,it's a pen. Is'nt that sharing what we do?
