Hello all,
I'm fairly new to fountain pens, just started acquiring them end of 2018. My first was a Prometheus Alpha bamboo, part of a kickstarter campaign.
I am not new to the maker/ modding community. I've a strong design/ draftsman background with many years of creating everything from custom woodwork, metal fabrication and now FP repair/ modding. I've spent a number of years teaching myself how to use a lathe and mill, and currently specialize in fabricating custom high-power flashlights. The techniques aren't too dissimilar to fountain pens, where accuracy and precision rule the day.
I've successfully restored a handful of inexpensive Scheaffer and no-name brands, as well as a Waterman 52 that was gifted to me. Now I'd like to outfit the lathe to start fabricating parts like cap finials and sections.
Just for fun, here's the last torch (a term I prefer over 'flashlight') that I made.
