I have been doing some of my own casting lately.Has anyone used pepper(yes as in black pepper)in their castings.I'm trying to cast different things.what do you think?

I think you definately need to wear a mask when you turn it!! Other than that, it should be just like coffee beans, only more brittle. I'm just guessing here really.

You might find ground pepper easier to cast and turn. In addition to a good mask some eye protection to keep the dust out of your orbs!

I just finished a pen last week that has peppercorns and poppy seeds embedded in it. It looks really neat and I'll try and post a photo later this week. A fellow turner focuses on peppermills so he asked me to cast some pen blanks for him.
