I placed an order last month, and John was nice enough to hold it for me until my VA check came. Got my order today and am very happy with it. John has only the best quality materials, as well as A-1 service.

By the way, thanks for the extras...:)

If your looking to turn between centers, or start on aluminum blanks, http://www.penturnersproducts.com
is where you want to be.

Thanks Again
Brian

Agree!

Another one of Johnny's fans here....I needed Sierra bushings but he was out of stock. I emailed for an expected date and he volunteered to do them that evening and sent them out the next day!

Great customer service!

Saw this thread yesterday as I had to wait and get my new stuff from the mail. Tried it out last night. Got a live and dead center from John and wow... I will never go back. Turning between centers is the way to go, and John's products are awesome. (I only wish I would have thought to get a 4" tool rest... oh well). Thanks John!

What is "turning between centers"?.

Curious in Conroe, John

Instead of turning on a mandrel, you get a 60 degree dead center and 60 degree live center, then you do everything as usual (put on the bushings) and instead of putting them on the mandrel, you put the bushings on the live and dead centers. You can only do one barrel at a time and need special bushings for slimlines and the like because they don't have a step in them. Check out PenturnersProducts.com for all the stuff you need (just the live and dead centers). It highly improves out of round on your pens.

Dead center in your headstock, live center in tailstock.
They should be 60° points, factory live centers are not.
Put shouldered bushings in blank, sandwich between centers.
Start turning, no mandrel.
It has a lot of benefits, but I'm not replying to sell you, just to answer.:)
