Hi Everybody!
I received a shipment today, and have been enjoying it greatly ever since. No, not new kits, or new acrylic, or anything like that. It's Pencils!
As penturners, we all have a shared interest in things that write. I figure that most of us also have a shared interest in things made of wood. Pencils are both of those.
I never really thought much about pencils, but I came across a post on another pen forum about PencilThings.com, and I had to go take a look. Long story short, I managed to leave a few dollars behind at that site, and the box arrived today. These things are so cool!
Check out the Rhodia pencil, made with black wood with an orange finish, topped by a black ferrule and black eraser! Or the Palomino by California Republic, with a classy orange lacquer finish, gold ferrule and white eraser. Or the Mongol trio, an oversized triangular pencil - it fits my big hand very nicely! Or the Steadtler Noris Ergosoft pencil, triangular yellow with black tactile sides, and a red button on top (no eraser). Another favorite is the Mongol 482 unfinished pencil, just wood with no finish.
I'm not particularly a pencil fanatic - they're just pencils! But making pens has given me an appreciation for those simple things in life that are done right! And these are pencils done right!
