Does any one have an opinion on the quality of the refils that come with the kits from most suppliers, are they any where near as good as genuine Cross or Parker refils?[?]

My opinion.... some are good, some are bad. The good one's are great but the problem is that they are very inconsistent. The brand name refills are quality and should write pretty much the same with every new refill

So if we are selling our pens for avewrage of 30.00 does it behove us to replqace the cheap refils of the genuine type or just let the customer do it them selfs?

My experience from the last 5,6 years is that the ball point refills coming with the kits I buy (mainly Berea and AZ) are better writing than Parker and Cross refills! I even had customers coming back to me and asking if they can buy some of the original refills, they had bought Parker and/or Cross and found them to be not as smooth writing as the no-name refill coming with our kits. If you do a search here on this topic, you will find a lot of info. The rollerball refills, however, are a different thing. In my opinion the Hausser refills coming with Berea and AZ kits are all pretty bad and I exchange them right away for quality Schmidt refill (as they are coming with the CSUSA kits). I also bought some of the Pilot and Uniball refills from Staples and found them to smear a bit.

In this vein, I know Parker was having trouble with their gel refill for the ballpoint design.

Lately, I don't see it on the shelves at Office Max or Depot in our area.

Has it been discontinued???? Does anyone KNOW???

Not discontinued, I still buy them. But I think the larger box stores are tired of Parker's price increases.

Thank you, Anthony!!!

Thsn I can still tell customers that Parker makes a gel refill for this pen, but I recommend the compatible "look alikes" that are more economical and, generally work better.[:D][:D][:D]
