While at SWAT in Witchita Galls. TX. last weekend, I met Ken Nelson and his son, Colin. It was great to finally meet them face-to-face. I bought one of his Pink Ribbon Sierra Blanks. It is set nn Blood Wood.
I did a CA finish differently from my usual method
Sand it down to around 600 grit. Turn the lathe down to 500 rpms and apply Medium CA using one of the little plastic bags from the pen kits as the applicator. Apply one coat and let it spin for about a minute, then lightly mist it with accelerator. Let it spin fo another minute and repeat.
Sand it down to 600 grit and then wet sand through 12,000 micro-mesh. I have to say, that method rocks!! Colin, Ken's son, showed me this method at SWAT.
It is in a Black Titanium Gold Elegant Sierra kit ahd will be a gift for my Sr. Manager's Wife who is going through Chemo right now.
