some of you may be interested in this. this is a jewelery box from http://www.nilecorp.com

granted, it's not the world's nicest box, but it ain't too bad.

i got the bracelet insert for it and i think the box was less than $6 and the insert was $2-$3. right now they're having their anniversary sale with no minimum order. the pens fit nicely. it's not a PERFECT fit, but it displays them well and you could always modify with an elastic band to hold them in place. they also sell acrylic pen stands here, but they're on back order right now. sorry these pictures are cruddy, but you get the idea.

this'll suffice until i build one of my own!

That's not too bad, especially considering the cost. But it sure makes those obviously large pens look small! What is the case made from? Could it be cut and resized?

Beautiful pens, by the way. I like your centerband work. What's the 4th pen from the right?

I thought about it some more and think that the case would be a good one for shows because the room above/below the pens would allow for information cards or other signage. If you tilted it at an angle, you'd need to put a little stopper on the felt tray, but otherwise it probably would work fine.

(tried to edit my earlier reply but wasn't allowed to)

brian, i'm not exactly sure what it's made from... probably just particle board covered with a fake leather looking substance. it is a little large, but they've got other sized boxes on the site. and you definitely have room for a stopper or signage or whatever.

thanks for your comment on the pens. the one you asked about is flame birch with an afzelia burl centerband. there's a much better picture of it in my album.
