First of all, allow me to say that "I'm a wood guy" who occasionally dables with casting. Most, or (what little I know:redface: ) has been absorbed right here. Still consider myself a novice. That said, here's my "flat" attempt at casting PCB pen blanks. Used a "real" board ripped out of a discarded computer. Cast a nice "thick" block and chopped it into regular sized pen blanks. Don't have the full 360 degree coverage that Bruce (bruce119) gets, but I get the basic "look". What is different with mine is that I'm blending corrugated honeycomb packaging to compliment the pcb. Still experimenting with painting the "inside" of the blank with a complimentary colour. It's a work in progress and although I haven't translated the work into a finished pen, I'm not far off. Just thought I'd share a bit of the progress that has been made so far. Feel free to offer suggestions to make this a (more)successful project.:)

Interesting... Thats a good word choice. I would have to say its better than I expected. I'm not sure that it would be enough to offset the other blanks out there for me, but for a first shot that pretty good! Good enough to keep trying at least!
